Our Water Cycle Assembly

This term our whole school topic is "Splish, Splash, Splosh". The Boxmoor Trust came to our school to take an assembly on The Water Cycle. We really enjoyed taking part and learning all about water.

Eco Pictures

We reuse junk brought in from home and school to make models. We've made a boat!

The Mayor of St Albans presented Eco-Ambassador certificates to our Eco-Councillors.

Sports Day

	We all really enjoyed taking part in Sports Day as you can see from these lovely pictures!

Science Club

In Science Club we have been investigating how to make teabags, how to bend water, magic milk and other experiments. Here we are having fun!

Maypole and Country Dancing

Walk to School Week

We celebrated Walk to School Week.

We all met up at the Common and walked to school together.

Even the Chestnut Class mascot, Wally the Walrus joined in.

Gardening Club

We have made this scarecrow for an RHS competition. We have named her "The Duchess of Redbourn". Fingers crossed!	The potatoes we planted are growing fast.	We have had lots of weeding to do.
We planted runner beans to grow up our frame.	We have also planted lots of beetroot.	It won't be long before we have broad beans to eat.

Easter Exhibition


	Every child was challenged to make something for our Easter Exhibition. The children have been busy making Easter Bonnets, Easter gardens, decorated baskets and Easter bunny pictures. We displayed them all in our gallery and invited everyone to our Easter Exhibition. We think you will agree that it looks fantastic!

Gardening Club

Spring is coming. The bulbs are coming up in our flowerbed.	We have started off some seeds in our indoor mini greenhouse.	We dug our allotment ready for spring.
We collected worms for our compost.	We have planted our early potatoes.	We have been weeding. We are so happy to be back gardening after winter!

Book Week

We worked with our Junior buddies to create new fairytale characters.		We acted out "The Three Billy Goats Gruff".
The author Steve Weatherill visited.	We acted out the story of The Three Little Pigs".	It was fun.
In Year One, our focus book for the week was "The Gingerbread Man".In our learning through play we made books.	We made salt dough gingerbread men.	We wrote our own questions and hot seated the gingerbread man.
A group of Year 2 children went to the Reading Festival.	In Year 2 we designed and made houses for the Three Little Pigs.	We dressed up as our favourite book characters from Traditional Tales.
